Adobe Business Catalyst. More than just software

Neil Eisenberg - Friday, October 25, 2013

Adobe Business Catalyst is the system we use here at Design Intervention Studio to build online businesses.  But it's more than just software.  It's a team of dedicated specialists from Adobe who support their partners, and a worldwide network of developers who support each other.

For more than three years, we have been partnering with Adobe to provide the best possible tools and systems for our customers to support their online business goals.

In that time we have build more than 50 sites using Adobe's Business Catalyst backend.  In that time Adobe has provided support, training, and updates and has reached out to us, and others in the developer community to make sure we were getting the features and services our clients are asking for, along with the flexibility and tools WE need to build the best possible user experience.

As an added bonus, I have been honored to be welcomed into a worldwide network of developers who are doing things the same way I am, and who are happy to share information, expertise, and even their services in order to support the Business Catalyst Community.   The result?

Our business has grown exponentially, and our network reach has made us a global company.  Our clients are happier, because we give them more value for their money, and the finished product is better than we could have delivered for the same price in the past!

As an example of how Adobe and the Adobe community continues to support Design Intervention Studio, we were pleased to be joined at the 2013 Business Expo for Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce (http://www.dcrcoc.org) this past week by Adobe Evangelist and Developer and Co-Founder of Business Catalyst, Adam Broadway!!  Adam speaks around the world about how businesses can maximize their presence online by building online businesses as opposed to websites!!

If you would like a copy of Adam's presentation, click here to go to our contact page, and drop us a request.  We will be happy to send it out to you!

We were also pleased to host Scott B Reynolds, President of Thrise Design in Hartford CT to our booth.  Scott hosts weekly user groups for BC partners all over the world, and we work closely together on projects when we need to think out of the box.

E-mail Migration Instructions! Important News!

Final Migration Instructions

During the next few days, upon attempting to login either through your current desktop e-mail client (using POP3 or IMAP) or through the webmail interface, your login credentials will stop working and you'll receive an "Invalid username or password" error.

Upon receiving this error, the steps you'll need to take are:

If you have access to the site's Admin Console (ie. you're an Admin user with email enabled):

  1. Login in site Admin with the user account for which you wish to perform a password change
  2. Go Home -> My Details -> Change Password form
  3. Enter old password and new password twice, and save the changes

This will result in the password being changed for both Admin and email access.

Changing your password via the Webmail login interface (ie.you're an "email only" user)

  1. Go to Webmail as per usual (eg: mail.mydomain.com)
  2. At the login screen you'll see a message that requests you perform a password update: "For security reasons, you will need to reset your password. Please go here to change your password."
  3. Clicking on Change password link will load a form where you can update your password.
  4. Enter your e-mail address, old password and new password twice, then save the changes

Once you have updated your password, you'll be able to login to the webmail interface, or through your desktop email client using the new password.

Please Note: Upon logging in with your new password, you will not see your old e-mail in the web interface or via IMAP, as we will be migrating e-mail to the new service following password upgrade. This means that your e-mail inbox and folders will look empty. Please wait a few days until the migration is complete for the older emails to appear.

Thank you very much for working with us through this process,
Neil Eisenberg
