Neil Eisenberg, of Design Intervention Studio spoke to a group of entrepreneurs at the 2008 Business Institute Small Business Seminar, presented by SCORE, and the New York State Small Business Development Center. The event, sponsored by Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, The Poughkeepsie Journal, and the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce was again well attended, and was held on October 4th at the Poughkeepsie Galleria, in Poughkeepsie NY. Neil delivered the message about how small businesses can look as big as their competitors and needn't spend a fortune to do it.  He shared tips and tricks about what to do, and wehat not to do when planning and implementing a small business web site. 

"Make sure you can articulate what it is you are trying to present on your website BEFORE you start building it. Use a web designer who doesnt try to dazzle you with technical jargon, and also NEVER pay for search engine optimization - a good designer builds that into the site as part of the job."

Neil went on to explain how content management can work for any business and why building a website is so important - especially in tough financial times.
"For less money than printing and mailing a four color marketing piece, you can build a website that works for you - 24 hours a day", he explained.

For small business or any size business, the fundamentals of marketing are always important, and a good web designer will know how to use all the tools at his or her disposal.
